Cryotherapy, sometimes known as cold therapy, is the local or general use of low temperatures in medical therapy. At Coastal Freeze, we perform localized cryotherapy. Unlike Whole Body Cryotherapy, which stimulates cold receptors all over the body in order to trigger an internal systemic anti-inflammatory response, local cryotherapy allows us to treat a specific location and is much more powerful and efficient than traditional cryotherapy using ice baths or chambers. Our treatments take an average of 3 to 9 minutes weekly or bi-weekly allowing maximum results in minimum time.
Types of Therapy
Pain Management & Inflammation Therapy
With the use of a variety of attachments we can relieve headaches, reduce inflammation, decrease joint soreness, and relieve overused or stresses muscles. When dropping the targeted area to temperatures as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit we trigger the process of vasoconstriction and vasodilation. Therefore, the area becomes flooded with oxygenated, nutrient rich blood. This process quickly relaxes the fatigued muscles, decreases inflammation and swelling, increases flexibility and joint function, accelerates recovery time, as well as significantly reduces pain. Once maximum relief is achieved, follow up treatmentsare only as needed.
Cool Cosmetic Therapy
Cool Cosmetic Therapy treatments include cellulite reduction, inch reduction, chin & body sculpting, scar and stretch mark reduction, facials, acne treatments and more. For all cosmetic treatments, the handheld device with specific attachments is used along with the CO2 to attain the proper temperature to achieve maximum results for the specific treatment being performed. During cellulite reduction, inch loss and body sculpting treatments the body temperature may be decreased to temperatures as low as 35 degrees Fahrenheit reaching Cryolypolisis (maximum freezing) of adipose tissue resulting in destruction of the adipose tissue without causing damage to the skin or body. To assist the lymphatic system in eliminating the destroyed adipose tissue, it is highly recommended the client consume the suggested amount of water, healthy diet, and exercise to achieve the maximum results of each session. When performing chin sculpting, body sculpting, facial and acne treatments, scar and wrinkle reduction, the skin is cooled with the same handheld device, CO2 and a highly regulated nozzles allowing the skin to first be chilled followed by specialty attachments resulting in skin tightening, wrinkle reduction and cosmetic enhancements to the treated area.
